Leading the development of free zones in the Caribbean
the Dominican Republic has become one of the most developed countries in industrial parks zones. Its privileged location, in the center of America, makes it the most promising alternative in the Caribbean and Latin America as a model of investment.
This growth is due in part to new tax and customs laws seeking market opening to benefit the local sector productivity while promoting foreign investment. The country also offers other advantages to increase the added value of industrial investment including:

Communication channels

The privileged geographical position occupied by the island allows for clear and effective transmission via telephone, cell phone, fax , cable, Internet or other technologies. With quality comparable to most developed nations, the country has one of the most advanced in Latin America.

 The residential and mobile telephone communication is well advanced, with several choices of multinational and national services among which are Codetel (formerly Verizon which was acquired in early 2006 by American Mobile ), Orange ( France Telecom ) ,  and Tricom .

Roads
Duarte Highway, t and Mella Highway connecting from Santo Domingo the three major regions: North, Southwest and Southeast respectively. In addition, more than 6,000 km of roadways traverse the different provinces and facilitate the flow of trade and transport of goods and passengers . Major cities such as Santo Domingo and Santiago exhibit modern highways that speed vehicular traffic townsman.

Airports
In the Dominican Republic there are seven international airports strategically located in major cities:

• The Americas José Francisco Peña Gomez in Santo Doming, It is the busiest and influx of flights.

Ports
The Dominican ports handled cargo flows to and from anywhere in the world . As airports are strategically located in areas that allow easy access from all parts of the country.

The port system consists of twelve international ports. Caucedo Ports and Rio Haina near Santo Domingo, handle the increased volume of merchandise annually. Other major port terminals are: Boca Chica, Puerto Plata, San Pedro de Macoris , Cabo Rojo , Azua , Manzanillo , Barahona and Samana.

The Dominican Republic is located in the center of the Caribbean. Dominican Republic shares with Haiti the island of the " Spanish ". Located east, occupies two thirds of the country, between latitudes 18 ° and 20 °. It is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, south and the Caribbean Sea to the east of the Mona Passage separates it from the island of Puerto Rico.
